Description
During the 197s, experimental Glenisla malt whisky was made at Glen Keith, destined primarily for use in the Chivas Brothers’ blends. Glenisla was made using both peated malt and peated water (the water was flavoured with smoke and then run through a still to concentrate this smokiness). AGED: 15 years DISTILLED ON: August 11, 1995 BOTTLE ON: September 8, 211 MATURED IN: Hogshead CASK NO: 171183 ALC: 46% nextSection COLOR: light gold NOSE: Hay, dry grass, vanilla, menthol and oak. Fascinating and intense. Some herbs, bergamot and sage TASTE: Rich and oily, sweet vanilla custard, ripe plums, aniseed balls and a hint of turmeric. Very malty with citrus and spices. FINISH: Good length with apples, marmalade and toffee.
