RHODE ISLAND A note from the brewery: 5% ABV Our take on a Munich-style Helles, a deceiving style that seems simple but is a complex and challenging beer to make. Made with 100% Barke Pilsner malt, we chose to single decoct this beer to lend a depth of malt flavor that can’t be recreated any other way. Decoction is the process of removing a portion of the malt and boiling it for a period of time to create Maillard flavors that can be described as sweet, nutty and bready. And we used a new yeast strain that we are loving: Fresh Andechs from Berkeley Yeast. The resulting crystal-clear, gold-colored Helles is both incredibly refreshing and drinkable, but with layered notes of sweetbread, vanilla cream, freshly baked bread and fermenting dough. On the One was lagered for 6 weeks.
