The originality of this 1% malt expression lies in its unique distillation method. Malted barley is distilled in a “Coffey still”, a traditional continuous still which is normally used to produce grain whisky, resulting in a malt that is delightfully fruity and spicy. This whisky was previously only released as part of their single cask series. But starting 216 in the US, Nikka has made this more widely available.
