Wilderness Trail Kentucky Straight Wheated Bourbon is our flagship whiskey, born out of our burning desire to challenge traditional bourbon-making techniques. We crafted this distinctive bourbon with less corn and a higher percentage of “middle grains” to showcase the subtleties and nuances of grain flavor.rLong story short, this bourbon is how we made a name for ourselves. When we launched it, it was the first bottled-in-bond wheated sweet mash bourbon released since Prohibition.rOur flagship bourbon is crafted from a wheated mashbill that replaces the traditional rye with wheat for a softer flavor profile. The mashbill break down is 64 percent corn, 24 percent wheat and 12 percent malted barley, making it one of the highest ratios of wheat used in a Bourbon made in Kentucky. The result is a long, sweet finish of oak spices, toffee and dark fruits.
